How is asbestosis diagnosed?

A diagnosis of asbestosis typically involves an inquiry about a patient’s history of asbestos exposure and whether any co-workers or other tradesmen working around a patient may have been affected by the asbestos exposure. Tests used to confirm an asbestosis diagnosis include pulmonary function tests, CT scans, and chest x-rays.
